Iran, Venezuela Strengthen Ties in Communication and Countering Misinformation
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: The Communications Ministers of Iran and Venezuela met in Tehran to discuss areas of joint cooperation, focusing on enhancing communication networks and addressing the spread of misinformation worldwide. Iranian Communications Minister Sattar Pour-Hashemi hosted Venezuela’s Minister of Communications Freddy Nanez, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Pour-Hashemi underscored the importance of presenting what he called “a true picture” of the recent conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. He condemned what he described as the Zionist regime’s actions, affirming Iran’s commitment to raising global awareness about these events. He also expressed gratitude to Venezuela for its stance against these actions, noting the support shown by the Venezuelan government and people.
Pour-Hashemi referenced the guidance of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who has called for heightened vigilance against cultural influence and has urged independent countries to collaborate on preserving their values. This meeting aligns with those priorities, as both nations committed to mutual support in communications and counteracting misinformation on a global scale.
