Iranian President, Pakistani Interior Minister Discuss Regional Stability and Dialogue Efforts

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian underscored the importance of sustaining dialogue and strengthening regional cooperation during a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran on Wednesday.
The two sides reviewed the latest regional developments, bilateral relations, and diplomatic consultations related to the ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.
During the meeting, both officials emphasized the need to continue political consultations and enhance regional cooperation while discussing developments surrounding the negotiation process, diplomatic initiatives and efforts aimed at promoting regional peace, stability and security.
President Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s “positions, support and efforts” in supporting regional stability, security and cooperation, and highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral relations and maintaining close political coordination between Tehran and Islamabad.
Referring to the deep historical, cultural and religious ties between the two neighboring countries, the Iranian president stated that broader cooperation in political, economic, border and security sectors would serve the common interests of both nations and contribute positively to regional stability.
Minister Naqvi conveyed the views and messages of Pakistani leadership regarding ongoing regional developments and stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and mutual understanding to address regional challenges.
The meeting also touched upon recent tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel, as well as diplomatic efforts aimed at securing long-term stability in the region.
According to reports, Tehran and Washington reached a two-week ceasefire agreement on April 8 following mediation efforts by Pakistan, after weeks of heightened military escalation. Subsequent negotiations aimed at achieving a permanent resolution remain ongoing.
