Iraqi Parliament Speaker Meets Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary
Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, hosted Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in Baghdad on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by Qassem Al-Araji, Iraq’s National Security Advisor, and highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries.
During the session, Larijani conveyed greetings from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Al-Mashhadani.
Speaker Al-Mashhadani underscored the profound social, cultural, religious, and political ties shared by Iraq and Iran. He also condemned a recent attack by the Zionist regime on Iran and expressed gratitude to Iran for its steadfast support of Iraq and its people.
