Maryam Nawaz Lauds Azerbaijan’s Development Under President Ilham Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that the development achieved by Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev is highly commendable.

Addressing the World Urban Forum in Baku, she said that Punjab is moving forward by overcoming multiple challenges through comprehensive and well-planned interventions. She added that the provincial government is upgrading infrastructure while keeping in view the growing challenges posed by climate change.

Maryam Nawaz said she was pleased to participate in the World Urban Forum and appreciated the leadership of Azerbaijan for hosting the event and extending warm hospitality. She stated that she had brought a message of goodwill and affection from the leadership and people of Pakistan.

Highlighting key initiatives in Punjab, she said that a comprehensive sanitation system has been developed under the “Suthra Punjab” mega project to ensure improved cleanliness across the province. She further noted that the Punjab Economic Registry Survey has been launched to strengthen socio-economic data collection and planning.

The Chief Minister also said that under the Model Village Programme, 2,000 villages across the province are being upgraded with modern facilities. She emphasized that rural development is essential for ensuring equitable access to services and balanced regional growth.
