MoFE Holds Tahlil Ceremony in Honor of Late Members of Brunei’s Royal Family

Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) held a Tahlil ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum yesterday to honor Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim—the late parents and late son of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

The event was graced by Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, as the guest of honor.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, the acting permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary, department heads, as well as male officers and staff of the ministry.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, followed by a mass recitation of Tahlil led by Mohd Redzuan bin Haji Marjuki, Mosque Affairs Officer of Kampong Kilanas Mosque.

As an annual religious event, the Tahlil ceremony aims to strengthen the bonds among the ministry’s officers and staff while honoring the late royal family members. This year, the event was organized by the Revenue Division of the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
