Myanmar’s Min Aung Hlaing Meets Chinese Special Envoy to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Yangon, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, received Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, at the SAC Chairman’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

During the meeting, the Senior General and Mr. Deng Xijun engaged in cordial discussions regarding China’s commitment to cooperating in the implementation of Myanmar’s Five-Point Roadmap with a positive approach. Key topics included Myanmar’s preparation for holding an election, Myanmar-China cooperation in the peacemaking process, and efforts to eradicate narcotic drugs.

Additionally, both sides deliberated on bilateral cooperation in combatting telecom fraud and online gambling, as well as measures to enhance trade operations at the border region shared by the two countries.

Present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council Member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, and other officials. The Chinese Special Envoy was accompanied by officials from the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar.

The discussions underscored the commitment of both Myanmar and China to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors.
