Oman, Morocco Sign MoU to Strengthen Legal and Judicial Cooperation

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in the training and qualification of lawyers, legal professionals, and experts, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries to advancing judicial and legal development.
The agreement was signed in Rabat by Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Saidi, Oman’s Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, and Abdellatif Ouahbi, Morocco’s Minister of Justice. The signing ceremony was attended by Khalid Salim Bamakhalaf, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Morocco, along with senior officials from both sides.
The memorandum provides a framework for implementing joint programs focused on the training and professional development of lawyers, legal practitioners, and experts. The initiative is designed to enhance the capabilities of national cadres, improve the quality of judicial and legal services, and facilitate the exchange of professional expertise and best practices through specialized training courses, seminars, and workshops.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Al Saidi described the memorandum as a practical step toward strengthening cooperation between Oman and Morocco in judicial and legal fields. He noted that the agreement would open new avenues for the exchange of specialized knowledge and professional experience, contributing to the development of legal competencies, the enhancement of judicial services, and the realization of common interests between the two nations.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Omani minister held a series of official meetings with senior officials from Morocco’s judicial sector. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, sharing expertise in legal and judicial affairs, and exploring opportunities for the development of joint programs that support the objectives and mutual interests of both countries.
The agreement underscores the strong ties between Oman and Morocco and reflects their shared commitment to promoting excellence in the administration of justice, legal education, and professional capacity-building.
