Oman Ranked Asia’s Best Country for Quality of Life, Third Globally in 2026 Mid-Year Index
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman has been ranked the best country in Asia for quality of life and secured third place globally in the Numbeo Quality of Life Index 2026 Mid-Year, further strengthening the Sultanate’s reputation as one of the world’s most attractive places to live.
According to the latest Numbeo rankings, Oman achieved an overall Quality of Life Index score of 203.9, sharing third place worldwide with Denmark. The Netherlands topped the global rankings with a score of 205.6, followed by Luxembourg at 204.8.
Within Asia, Oman emerged as the highest-ranked country, ahead of Qatar in second place and Japan in third, reflecting its strong performance across key quality-of-life indicators.
The Numbeo Quality of Life Index evaluates countries based on several factors that significantly influence residents’ well-being, including purchasing power, safety, healthcare quality, cost of living, property price-to-income ratio, traffic commute times, pollution levels, and climate.
Oman’s impressive ranking was driven by its high standards of public safety, low pollution levels, quality healthcare services, favorable climate, and relatively short commuting times. These strengths also positioned the Sultanate as the top-ranked country in both Asia and the Arab world in the latest assessment.
