Oman, Sri Lanka Hold Fourth Round of Political Consultations to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka held the fourth round of political consultations in Muscat on Monday, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and expanding partnership across key sectors.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Sri Lankan delegation was headed by Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
During the consultations, both sides reviewed the progress of bilateral relations and explored opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the economic, investment, tourism, and cultural sectors.
The two delegations also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of common concern, underscoring the importance of dialogue and collaboration in addressing shared challenges.
Both countries emphasized the need for continued consultation and close coordination between their foreign ministries to identify new avenues of partnership that serve their mutual interests, promote regional and international cooperation, and contribute to peace, security, and stability.
The consultation session was attended by senior officials from both Oman and Sri Lanka, reflecting the shared commitment of the two nations to deepening diplomatic engagement and advancing their longstanding bilateral ties.
