Over 260 Development Projects Planned in Bokhtar to Mark Tajikistan’s 35th Independence Anniversary
Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: More than 260 social, administrative, educational, and public service projects are being implemented in Bokhtar, the capital of Tajikistan’s Khatlon Province, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the country’s State Independence, with the majority of the projects already completed and put into operation.
According to the press service of the Chairman of Khatlon Province, the large-scale infrastructure initiative aims to improve public services, strengthen urban infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Among the newly completed projects is the Anisa Hotel, constructed by a local entrepreneur in the Tursunzoda neighborhood of Bokhtar. The hotel features 18 spacious guest rooms and has the capacity to accommodate up to 50 visitors. The facility is expected to contribute to the development of the tourism sector and improve hospitality services in the provincial capital.
Construction is also nearing completion on the new five-storey administrative headquarters of the Khatlon Provincial State Fire Service, located on Sadriddin Ayni Street. The project, financed by the Executive Authority of Khatlon Province, includes a basement and is currently in its final phase, with interior finishing works and the installation of equipment underway. Officials said the new building will provide improved working conditions for firefighters and enhance emergency response services across the province.
As part of the anniversary development programme, Bokhtar is also constructing an additional building for Secondary School No. 14, which will accommodate 640 students per shift. The expansion is expected to improve learning conditions and help address classroom shortages.
In addition, a new building for Kindergarten No. 14, with a capacity of 200 children, is under construction with the support of the provincial government and generous local entrepreneurs. Once completed, the facility will expand access to quality early childhood education in the city.
Several other major public infrastructure projects are also progressing, including the construction of a new headquarters for the Khatlon Regional Directorate of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, a new building for the Regional Directorate of the State Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions under the Government of Tajikistan, and two new academic buildings at the Bokhtar Medical College.
Officials said the commissioning of these new social, educational, administrative, and service facilities will significantly contribute to Bokhtar’s urban development, improve public service delivery, and raise the overall standard of living for residents as Tajikistan prepares to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its independence.
