Pakistan Strongly Refutes India’s Missile Allegations as “False and Politically-Motivated”

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan on Thursday categorically rejected India’s allegations of cross-border missile strikes, denouncing them as “false, baseless, and politically-motivated” amid rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

In a joint press conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry condemned the accusations, asserting that they form part of a broader narrative by New Delhi to deflect attention from domestic crises and military failures.

Dar accused India of fabricating claims of Pakistani attacks in an effort to shift public focus following the loss of five Indian Air Force fighter jets — including three French-made Rafale aircraft — downed by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in response to Indian missile provocations on Wednesday.

Lt Gen Chaudhry, who heads the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), clarified that four missiles were actually launched by India and struck Indian territory in Amritsar. “Their narrative of striking 15 Pakistani targets is pure fiction,” he stated, urging Indian authorities to stop spreading disinformation in an era of verifiable facts.

Challenging India to present concrete evidence, Dar reiterated, “India’s claim that Pakistan attacked Amritsar is entirely fabricated. When Pakistan chooses to respond, the world will see it – and hear it.”

He further alleged that the Indian government deliberately launched projectiles into Amritsar to provoke anti-Pakistan sentiment among the Sikh community and externalise rising communal tensions within India. According to Dar, while three of the projectiles fell inside Indian Punjab, a fourth entered Pakistan’s airspace and was neutralised by Pakistani air defences, with debris landing in Denga, Pakistan.

“Such malicious actions by the Hindutva regime are aimed at unjustly blaming Pakistan to manipulate domestic narratives,” Dar said. “Pakistan categorically denies any intention or action that endangered civilian populations in India.”

Lt Gen Chaudhry also disclosed that Pakistan had intercepted and neutralised 29 hostile drones sent by India, resulting in the martyrdom of three Pakistani civilians and injuries to four soldiers. Among the intercepted drones, one Israeli-manufactured UAV was shot down over the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, allegedly intended to intimidate international players during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).

“These provocations represent a dangerous escalation. Nonetheless, Pakistan, acting as a responsible state, has exercised strategic restraint and limited its responses to lawful self-defence,” Dar added.

He warned, however, that Pakistan reserves the right to respond “at a time, place, and manner of its choosing,” citing repeated violations of its airspace and international norms.

Calling on the public to remain calm, the Deputy Prime Minister assured that Pakistan’s armed forces were fully prepared to counter any act of aggression. He added that India’s actions stemmed from embarrassment following the downing of its aircraft.

Separately, security sources rejected Indian claims of Pakistani military strikes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), labelling such reports as fabricated efforts to justify continued Indian hostilities.

Dar concluded by describing India’s narrative as “a big lie” and condemned the “shameful and condemnable” attempt to frame Pakistan. Lt Gen Chaudhry reaffirmed the nation’s preparedness and unity in defence of its sovereignty, stating, “Our nation is united in faith and resolute in the defence of its sovereignty.”
