Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: The person who left the bomb is detained and initial reports show PKK/YPG terror group is behind the bomb attack in Türkiye’s Istanbul busy pedestrian avenue of Istiklal said Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu in an early Monday briefing.

Officials of the Turkish state, who made a statement to the media, said that the incident took place at the intersection of Taksim Square and Istiklal Street.

According to the latest information, the incident is believed to have occurred as a result of a woman detonating an explosive device, there is information about it.

In the area where the explosion took place, work is being continued with full force, cameras in the area are being investigated, witness statements are being taken. As a result of the suspected terrorist act, six people died, four at the time of the explosion and two later. 81 injured people were admitted to different hospitals of the city. The investigation is ongoing.

After the announcement, the officials moved to the Beyoğlu Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul.
