PM Shehbaz Sharif Welcomes Anwar Ibrahim for High-Level Talks in Pakistan
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly received Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim upon his arrival in Islamabad on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to Pakistan.
Upon arrival at the airport, children in traditional attire presented bouquets to the Malaysian Prime Minister. A contingent of the Pakistan Army gave him a static guard of honour, while a 21-gun salute resounded in the background as a gesture of the warm welcome extended to the visiting dignitary.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with members of the federal cabinet, were also present to welcome Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation.
During his visit, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will hold meetings with Pakistan’s leadership. Discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral ties in various fields, including trade, energy, agriculture, the halal industry, tourism, cultural exchanges, and connectivity. Regional and global developments will also be on the agenda.
The official visit is being made at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Foreign Office emphasized the significance of the visit, stating, “Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy strong bilateral ties anchored in history, culture, and faith. This visit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen Pakistan-Malaysia relations.”
