President Emomali Rahmon Visits Mongolia’s National History Museum During State Visit
Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: As part of his state visit to Mongolia, President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, visited the National History Museum in Ulaanbaatar on July 21, where he was briefed on the institution’s rich cultural, historical, and research significance.
During the visit, President Rahmon was informed that the National History Museum officially opened on October 11, 2022, in the heart of Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar. The museum serves as one of the country’s leading cultural and research institutions, preserving Mongolia’s historical heritage for future generations.
Officials highlighted that the museum houses a research library containing approximately 6,000 volumes and occupies a modern nine-story building, with eight floors dedicated to thematic exhibition halls showcasing various periods of Mongolia’s history.
The lower floors feature exhibits illustrating the lives and cultures of the ancient peoples who inhabited Mongolia, while the museum’s extensive collection includes more than 10,400 cultural artifacts. Among its most valuable displays are ancient archaeological objects and historical relics dating back to the 13th century.
Following the tour, President Emomali Rahmon signed the museum’s book of honorary guests, commemorating his visit and expressing appreciation for Mongolia’s efforts to preserve and promote its rich historical and cultural legacy.
The visit formed part of President Rahmon’s broader state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cultural, historical, and people-to-people cooperation between Tajikistan and Mongolia.
