President Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Donald Trump on US Independence Anniversary
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to United States President Donald Trump on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
In his congratulatory message, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction over the steady progress of Azerbaijan–United States relations, noting that bilateral ties have continued to develop successfully and along an upward trajectory in recent years.
The Azerbaijani leader said his country highly values the strategic partnership established between the two nations and expressed appreciation for President Trump’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and his consistent support for expanding cooperation.
President Aliyev voiced confidence that the Charter on Strategic Partnership, signed in February, would elevate bilateral relations to a new level and provide fresh momentum for cooperation not only in traditional sectors such as the economy, energy, connectivity and security, but also in emerging fields including digital transformation, artificial intelligence and other strategic areas.
He also praised President Trump’s efforts to advance the peace agenda in the South Caucasus and promote sustainable development across the region.
Highlighting the significance of the historic trilateral meeting hosted at the White House on August 8 last year at President Trump’s initiative, Aliyev said the meeting had helped create a new and positive regional atmosphere, adding that Azerbaijan and Armenia are now living in peace and developing trade relations.
The Azerbaijani President further expressed appreciation for continued US support for regional infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing stability and economic development, particularly the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity,” which he said would provide an alternative, reliable and secure transport link between Asia and Europe.
President Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding its partnership with the United States and expressed hope for continued cooperation in promoting regional peace, connectivity and shared prosperity.
