President Ilham Aliyev Highlights National Unity and Heroism at Opening of Aghdam Mugham Center

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized the power of national unity and resilience during the opening ceremony of the Aghdam Mugham Center, praising the collective strength of the Azerbaijani people.

“When the whole society rallies around for a cause, that society is capable of doing great things. This is precisely what makes our people great,” President Aliyev stated in his address at the event.

Reflecting on the 44-day Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani leader highlighted the steadfast resolve of the nation in the face of adversity. “We clearly understood and saw which forces supported Armenia, which forces were behind them, and which forces we could and did confront. But this did not deter us,” he said.

President Aliyev added that the nation’s determination was encapsulated in the slogan, “We would rather die than go back,” which he said symbolized the spirit that guided Azerbaijan throughout the conflict. “The 44-day Patriotic War is a chronicle of both professionalism, heroism and national spirit,” he affirmed.

The Aghdam Mugham Center, inaugurated in a city that has seen significant reconstruction following liberation, stands as a cultural and symbolic testament to Azerbaijan’s post-war revival and enduring identity.
