President Ilham Aliyev Meets Slovak Parliamentary Delegation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday received a delegation led by Richard Raši, as both sides reaffirmed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
President Ilham Aliyev fondly recalled his official visit to Slovakia last year, including his meeting with Richard Raši, and highlighted the steady development of cooperation between the two countries. He noted that interparliamentary relations play an important role in further expanding bilateral ties based on mutual respect, friendship, and partnership.
The Azerbaijani President emphasized that the visit of the Slovak delegation, led by Richard Raši and comprising a large team, reflects the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Richard Raši conveyed appreciation on behalf of the delegation and stated that they were honored to meet the Azerbaijani head of state. He also thanked President Aliyev for his earlier official visit to Slovakia, recalling it as a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
The Slovak Speaker also noted his previous visits to Azerbaijan, including his trip to Shusha in 2022. He stated that during the current visit, he would also travel to Garabagh to observe ongoing reconstruction and development projects, as well as the activities of Garabagh University in Khankendi.
During the meeting, Richard Raši congratulated Azerbaijan on progress made in advancing the peace agenda with Armenia. In response, President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude and underlined Azerbaijan’s efforts to promote lasting peace, noting the establishment of trade relations between the two countries, including the export of petroleum products to Armenia.
Both sides emphasized that Azerbaijan and Slovakia have established a strategic partnership, reflecting the high level of political relations between the two countries.
The meeting also highlighted the participation of Slovak companies in the reconstruction of the Bash Garvand village in Aghdam, describing it as a strong symbol of friendship and cooperation.
The two sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation within international interparliamentary institutions and discussed prospects in a wide range of areas, including economy, trade, energy, defense industry, education, humanitarian aid, modern technologies, culture, sports, and tourism.
It was further noted that the planned launch of direct flights between Baku and Bratislava will contribute significantly to boosting tourism and enhancing people-to-people exchanges between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
