President of Italy visits Ichan-Kala Complex in Khiva city
Khiva, The Gulf Observer: A delegation led by the President of Italy visited the Ichan-Kala complex in Khiva city.
It is known that the Ichan-Kala complex, which received the status of an open-air museum, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. On an area of 26 hectares, there are 58 historical and architectural monuments. The museum reserve has been operating for 103 years.
The ancient monuments located here attract the attention of foreign tourists.
The high-ranking guests admired the erected mosques, madrassas, and other ancient city buildings. Representatives of the delegation talked with employees of the museum reserve, tourists, and artisans working here today. Sergio Mattarella left a memorable entry in the guest book of the museum reserve.
The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva, the Hokim of Khorezm region Jurabek Rakhimov, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov saw off the high-ranking guest at Urgench International Airport.
