President of Uzbekistan Identifies Priority Areas of Cooperation with Bahrain
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On April 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulatif bin Rashid al-Zayani. The meeting, occurring amidst the second gathering of Foreign Ministers from Central Asian and Gulf Arab countries in Tashkent, aimed to fortify bilateral relations and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.
During the meeting, Minister al-Zayani conveyed heartfelt regards and best wishes from King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to President Mirziyoyev, underscoring the warmth and significance of the Uzbek-Bahraini relationship.
Deliberations centered on the augmentation and diversification of the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Bahrain. Both sides acknowledged the imperative of bolstering political dialogue and expediting the launch of political consultation mechanisms to facilitate swift decision-making processes.
The potential for robust trade and economic collaboration between the two nations was highlighted, particularly in sectors such as banking and finance, transportation infrastructure development including roads and railways, as well as energy infrastructure modernization. Plans were disclosed for the inaugural meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Committee and the establishment of a Business Council comprising leading enterprises from Uzbekistan and Bahrain, aimed at fostering mutual prosperity.
The discussions also encompassed pertinent issues on the international agenda, including concerted efforts to address contemporary security threats. President Mirziyoyev extended sincere congratulations to Minister al-Zayani on his anniversary, wishing him continued good health and success in his endeavors.
