President Pezeshkian Calls for Balanced Approach to Social Norms and Public Satisfaction

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasized the importance of a balanced approach to the enforcement of social norms, including the observance of hijab, in a message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.

President Pezeshkian cautioned that strict enforcement of hijab regulations may lead to public discontent. At the same time, he noted that attire which disregards cultural and societal norms would not be accepted by the broader population.

In his statement, the President drew upon the teachings of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), underscoring that “God’s satisfaction is tied to the satisfaction of the public.” He stressed that governance should reflect both religious values and the sentiments of the people, pointing to the need for a thoughtful and inclusive approach in addressing sensitive social issues.

The remarks come as part of ongoing national discourse surrounding cultural expectations and individual freedoms, with President Pezeshkian advocating for policies that preserve societal cohesion while respecting the diverse views within Iranian society.
