Prime Minister of Qatar, Blinken Discuss Strategic Ties and Regional Developments

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call on Sunday from US Secretary of State HE Antony Blinken.

The discussion highlighted the robust strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States, with both officials exploring avenues to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

Central to their conversation was the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including measures to ensure its full implementation and the facilitation of prisoner and hostage exchanges. The two leaders also addressed the latest developments in Syria.

HE Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s commitment to fostering peace and urged all parties involved in Gaza to adhere to the terms of the ceasefire and prioritize the exchange of prisoners and hostages.

HE Secretary Blinken, in turn, commended Qatar’s pivotal role in mediating the agreement, emphasizing the United States’ appreciation for Doha’s sustained efforts toward regional stability and humanitarian outcomes.

The call underscored Qatar’s active engagement in international diplomacy and its ongoing contributions to peacebuilding in the Middle East.
