Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Extends Independence Day Greetings to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev

Lahore, The Gulf Observer: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended heartfelt felicitations to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Independence Day, observed on May 28.

In a formal message, she conveyed warm greetings to the Azerbaijani leadership and its brotherly people, describing the occasion as a historic milestone commemorating the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918. She noted that the day stands as a symbol of Azerbaijan’s enduring commitment to sovereignty, national dignity, and enlightenment.

Paying tribute to the legacy of the national leadership of Azerbaijan, the Chief Minister highlighted the contributions of former President Heydar Aliyev, describing him as a distinguished national figure whose statesmanship continues to be respected internationally. She further observed that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to demonstrate stability, progress, and growing international esteem.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed gratitude for the hospitality and warmth extended to her and her delegation during their engagements in Baku, stating that the affection and goodwill shown by the Azerbaijani leadership and people would remain deeply memorable.

She emphasized that the relationship between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Azerbaijan is founded on mutual trust, shared values, and consistent support in times of both challenge and achievement. She expressed confidence that this fraternal bond would continue to strengthen in the future through enhanced cooperation and mutual engagement.

Concluding her message, the Punjab Chief Minister extended her best wishes for the continued peace, prosperity, and development of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its people.
