RECP Pakistan and Khidmat Group Distribute Saplings to Promote Urban Greening in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi, The Gulf Observer: RECP Pakistan, in collaboration with the Khidmat Group, organized a sapling distribution campaign in Gulshan Abad, Adiala Road, Rawalpindi, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote afforestation and environmental sustainability. The initiative witnessed active participation from local residents, who received saplings to plant in their homes, streets, and neighborhoods.
The campaign aimed to enhance the area’s green cover, expand Pakistan’s forested landscape, reduce environmental pollution, and raise public awareness about the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Irshad Ramay, Chief Executive Officer of RECP Pakistan, highlighted the positive environmental impact of sustained afforestation in Gulshan Abad. He stated that continuous tree plantation over the past 15 years has resulted in the area’s temperature being approximately 2 to 3 degrees Celsius lower than the adjoining Adiala Road, demonstrating the significant role trees play in improving the local microclimate.
He emphasized that trees not only help reduce temperatures but also contribute to cleaner air by absorbing carbon dioxide, mitigating air pollution, preserving biodiversity, and creating a healthier environment for communities.
Muhammad Irshad Ramay reaffirmed RECP Pakistan’s commitment to continuing nationwide tree plantation and environmental protection initiatives in collaboration with social welfare organizations. He appreciated the support of the Khidmat Group and the residents of Gulshan Abad, urging citizens to plant more trees and consider their protection a national responsibility in order to build a greener, cleaner, and healthier Pakistan.
