Ronaldo Extends Al Nassr Contract Until 2027, Pledges to “Make History Together”

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has officially extended his contract with Al Nassr Football Club, committing his future to the Saudi Pro League giants until 2027, the club announced on Thursday.

The news was revealed through a video titled “The Story Continues” posted on Al Nassr’s social media platforms, featuring the five-time Ballon d’Or winner walking along a beach before declaring, “Al Nassr forever.” A follow-up post confirmed the contract renewal, accompanied by Ronaldo’s message: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in January 2023, has since played a transformative role in both the club’s domestic success and its international profile. In 77 league appearances, the forward has scored 74 goals and contributed 16 assists, setting a new single-season scoring record during the 2023–24 campaign, surpassing the previous mark held by Abderrazak Hamdallah.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo continues to demonstrate top form. His impressive performances with the Portugal national team in the UEFA Nations League reaffirm his ambitions to compete at the highest level, with an eye on participating in a sixth FIFA World Cup in 2026, when he will be 41.

Despite earlier speculation of a potential departure, sources cited by Sky Sports confirm that Ronaldo feels deeply settled in Saudi Arabia, citing his satisfaction with the league’s growing competitiveness and Al Nassr’s rising ambitions.

The contract extension represents a major statement of intent from Al Nassr, as they aim to solidify their position both regionally and globally. Ronaldo, who currently has 938 career goals, remains determined to reach the 1,000-goal milestone, a feat never before achieved in world football.

With more records in sight and the Roshn Saudi League gaining increasing global attention, Ronaldo’s decision to stay confirms that his Saudi football journey is far from over.
