Samarkand to Host EU-Central Asia Summit in April 2025

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The European Union-Central Asia Summit is set to take place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in April 2025, according to media reports. The upcoming summit’s preparations were a key focus during a meeting between Saida Mirziyoyeva, Aide to the President of Uzbekistan, and Tõivo Klaar, the EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan.

In a statement shared on her Instagram, Saida Mirziyoyeva highlighted Ambassador Klaar’s appreciation for Uzbekistan’s progress in key areas:

“Ambassador Klaar reaffirmed his unwavering support for our ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening legal protections for women and expanding their economic opportunities. He also commended Uzbekistan’s dedication to preserving its rich historical heritage, emphasizing that it should remain a source of national pride and a cornerstone of the country’s identity.”

The summit underscores the growing partnership between the EU and Central Asia, focusing on regional cooperation, economic development, and cultural exchange.

Ahead of the summit, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan recently reviewed their achievements for 2024 and discussed major events planned for 2025, further solidifying their commitment to regional collaboration.
