Sharjah Police celebrates International Inmate Day 2022
SHARJAH, The Gulf Observer: Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amir, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, witnessed, on Tuesday, the celebration of the International Inmate Day 2022, which is celebrated by the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department, at the theatre of the Police Science Academy.
The celebration was attended by Brigadier General Saeed Ali Lootah, Acting Director General of Punishment and Correctional Institutions at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Ahmed Abdulaziz Shuhail, Director of the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department, a number of senior officers in Sharjah Police, Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of Knowledge Without Borders, and a delegation of strategic partners and supporters of the Sharjah Police.
In a speech, Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak stressed that the celebration of the International Inmate Day is held annually for its message that reflects the noble human values, and embodies a global awareness of inmates and the importance of taking care of them in a way that ensures their reform and rehabilitation according to the best international practices and services.
The Sharjah Police revealed the two initiatives, which brought joy to the institution’s inmates and their families, in cooperation with the strategic and supportive partners of the Sharjah Police. In addition to targeting the children of the inmates by providing them with social and educational care, which resulted in them obtaining high marks in the exams at the end of the school year 2021-2022.
At the end of the celebration, Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak honoured a number of strategic partners supporting the Sharjah Police, praising the support they provide to the institution in the field of caring for inmates and their families.
