Shavkat Mirziyoyev Receives Omani Foreign Minister to Bolster Bilateral Ties

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, to discuss the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, Minister Albusaidi conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, to President Mirziyoyev. Both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on strengthening economic ties, particularly in the trade, investment, and financial sectors.
The meeting underscored the positive momentum in bilateral relations, with a noted increase in interdepartmental and business engagements. Trade volumes between the two nations are rising, and the number of joint enterprises is steadily growing. Business events featuring prominent companies from both countries are being held regularly, fostering deeper collaboration. Special emphasis was placed on expanding the portfolio of the existing joint Investment Company through new cooperation projects.
Looking ahead, the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-Oman Intergovernmental Commission and a joint business forum are scheduled for April this year. These events are expected to further strengthen economic and trade partnerships. Additionally, both sides highlighted the importance of enhancing interparliamentary ties, fostering cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and establishing direct air links to facilitate closer connectivity.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional developments, including preparations for the second summit of the Central Asia – Gulf Countries Dialogue, which is set to take place in May this year in the historic city of Samarkand.
The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and Oman to advancing their strategic partnership through sustained dialogue and cooperation in key sectors.
