Solemn Event Marks 630th Anniversary of Mirzo Ulugbek’s Birth in Minsk
Minsk, The Gulf Observer: A grand event dedicated to the 630th anniversary of the birth of the renowned scientist and statesman, Mirzo Ulugbek, was held at the House of Friendship in Minsk. The occasion was attended by representatives of Belarusian official bodies, the accredited diplomatic corps, members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NAS), academicians, professors, students, and media.
During the event, NAS academician Pyotr Vityaz delivered a lecture highlighting the profound impact of Ulugbek’s scientific and enlightenment legacy. He noted that the scientist’s contributions extended beyond the realm of research, emphasizing his role as a remarkable ruler. Professor Sergey Rakhmanov, a corresponding member of the NAS, underscored Ulugbek’s pivotal role in advancing the Second Eastern Renaissance.
Armen Sardarov, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Belarusian National Technical University, highlighted Ulugbek’s significant contributions to the development of education and culture, including the construction of madrassas, schools, libraries, and mosques, which played a vital role in transforming Asia into a center of science and culture.
The event concluded with a captivating performance of Uzbek national songs and poems, presented by renowned poets, evoking vivid emotions and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Mirzo Ulugbek’s time.
