Sultan Haitham, UAE President Discuss Ways to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman paid a private fraternal visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), during which he held talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the longstanding historic relations and fraternal bonds between Oman and the UAE, and discussed ways to further strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves their mutual interests and meets the aspirations of their peoples.

The leaders also exchanged views on a range of matters of mutual interest, while discussing regional and international developments and efforts aimed at promoting security, peace and stability.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology; Dr. Sultan bin Yarub Al Busaidi, Advisor at the Private Office; and Sayyid Dr. Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to the UAE, along with other officials.

From the Emirati side, the meeting was attended by Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, UAE Ambassador to Oman; and several senior officials.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also led the welcoming and farewell ceremonies for Sultan Haitham at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by a number of senior UAE officials.
