Sultan of Brunei Receives Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister to Discuss Bilateral and Regional Issues

Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday welcomed Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar U Than Swe during a formal audience at Istana Nurul Iman.
The visit marked the second day of U Than Swe’s official trip to Brunei. Discussions during the audience covered bilateral relations and pressing regional and international matters of mutual interest, including progress within ASEAN and the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus reached at the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting in Jakarta on April 24, 2021.
U Than Swe was accompanied by Myint Naing Oo, Director-General of the Planning and Administrative Department at Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Daw Khin Sandar, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Myanmar to Brunei Darussalam. Brunei’s Minister of Foreign Affairs II, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, was also present during the audience.
