Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia Discuss Expanding Investment and Trade Cooperation

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Speaker of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, met with Co-Chairman of the Tajikistan–Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Injaz Holding Company, Mohammed Saleh Al-Suwaih, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic relations.

According to the Assembly of Representatives, the meeting highlighted the steady development of friendly relations between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia based on mutual understanding and shared interests.

The two sides reviewed the current state of economic and trade cooperation and exchanged views on investment opportunities in key sectors, including hydropower, free economic zones, agricultural product processing, mining, and tourism development.

During the discussions, both parties emphasized the existence of significant untapped economic potential that could substantially increase bilateral trade volumes between the two countries.

They also noted that the establishment of the Joint Business Council and the regular holding of its meetings have created favorable conditions for building direct business links and promoting economic cooperation.

Mohammed Saleh Al-Suwaih expressed the Saudi business community’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and make direct investments in projects across Tajikistan.

Faizali Idizoda underscored the role of the Assembly of Representatives as a professional legislative body with extensive experience in adopting laws and ratifying international agreements. He stated that the parliament remains committed to creating an even more favorable legal environment to support investment and contribute to the development of various sectors of the national economy.
