Thrilling Viet Nam Carom Billiards Tournaments Await Fans in 2024
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Carom billiards enthusiasts in Viet Nam can look forward to an exhilarating year of competitions in 2024, fueled by the recent victories of Tran Quyet Chien and Bao Phương Vinh on the international stage.
The highly anticipated event on the horizon is the National Cup Carom Billiards Championship – VBSF 2024, scheduled to unfold from April 13 to 21 in Da Nang City. This annual tournament will become a fixture in the competition calendar, identifying emerging talents and selecting exceptional players nationwide. Designed as a crucial component of the official competition system, it will contribute significantly to the national athlete ranking system. To ensure widespread participation and the sport’s development, the tournament will rotate among various provinces and cities across the country, featuring categories like men’s three-cushion carom, men’s one-cushion carom, and women’s three-cushion carom.
Eligibility for the National Cup Carom Billiards Championship – VBSF 2024 is open to Vietnamese citizens who are members of the Viet Nam Billiards & Snooker Federation (VBSF) and approved by the Department of Culture and Sports, as well as the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of provinces and cities.
The VBSF will leverage this platform to select the top eight cueists in the three-cushion carom category to represent Viet Nam at the 2024 Three-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup in HCM City, scheduled from May 20 to 26. Hosting the prestigious Three-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup consecutively is a significant honor for Việt Nam, having been granted the right by the World Billiards Federation (UMB). Hollywood Company sponsors the event, expected to attract numerous fans witnessing top players from around the world competing for a total prize pool exceeding US$108,000.
In September, the 2024 World Three-Cushion Championship will unfold at Sea Links City Resort in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province. The championship holds special significance for Vietnamese cueists Vinh and Chien, with Vinh being the defending champion and Chiến the previous year’s first runner-up. This prestigious tournament, featuring 64 players and a remarkable prize pool of nearly $216,000, is the pinnacle of the sport.
September will also witness a general meeting of the International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF). Bình Thuan will host over 100 leaders from Billiards & Snooker Federations worldwide, providing a platform for discussions and camaraderie alongside the world championship matches.
