Tokayev, Rahmon Discuss Expanding Bilateral Ties, Focus on Trade and Energy Collaboration

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Tuesday held talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is visiting Astana to participate in the Regional Environmental Summit and the Meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, according to the Akorda press service.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations, agreeing to elevate the level of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

The discussions placed particular emphasis on strengthening trade and economic ties, as well as expanding cooperation in the critical water and energy sectors. Both sides underscored the importance of ensuring the full and timely implementation of agreements previously reached at the highest level.

In addition, Presidents Tokayev and Rahmon exchanged views on key regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration on matters of mutual interest.
