Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan discuss expansion of cooperation in energy sector
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern Maksat Babayev held a meeting with a delegation of Azerbaijan led by the country’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov in Ashgabat on Wednesday. The main topic of discussion was expansion of cooperation in the energy sector.
The press service of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan reports that the meeting, which was also attended by representatives of SOCAR, considered matters of joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources and prospects for the implementation of potential projects.
The Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov also met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, overseeing the country’s fuel and energy complex, Batyr Amanov. The meeting focused on the prospects of development of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the energy sector, as well as the potential for the implementation of joint projects.
At the meeting with the participation of SOCAR representatives it was highlighted that the documents signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the field of energy are an important contribution to the expansion of cooperation.
Mikayil Jabbarov also held talks with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Trade Complex, Textile Industry and Entrepreneurship Batyr Atdayev.
