Turkmenistan Embassy in Islamabad Receives IPC Secretary-General to Advance Parliamentary Ties
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), Senator Sitara Ayaz, visited the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan on Aug. 4, where she held talks with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Atadjan Movlamov, on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and promoting regional dialogue.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on advancing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IPC, with particular emphasis on enhancing interparliamentary engagement, expanding dialogue among parliamentarians across the region, and fostering institutional collaboration between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the International Parliamentarians Congress.
Discussions also focused on opportunities to jointly organize international conferences, roundtable discussions, and parliamentary forums involving legislators from Central Asian countries. Both sides noted that such initiatives could serve as valuable platforms for promoting parliamentary diplomacy, sharing legislative best practices, and developing coordinated approaches to addressing regional and global challenges.
Ambassador Movlamov expressed Turkmenistan’s support for strengthening ties between the parliaments of the participating countries and welcomed greater institutional cooperation with the IPC. Senator Sitara Ayaz, in turn, praised Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality and expressed her appreciation for the constructive and productive dialogue.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular engagement and advancing cooperation through joint initiatives aimed at strengthening interparliamentary relations, promoting regional partnership, and encouraging greater exchange among legislators.
