Turkmenistan Participates in CIS Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Almaty

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, took part in the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held on April 11 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The participation was confirmed in an official statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The high-level meeting gathered foreign ministers and deputy ministers from CIS member states, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee were also in attendance.
Delegates engaged in comprehensive discussions on multilateral cooperation, focusing on enhancing political and diplomatic dialogue, expanding trade and economic relations, and reinforcing cultural and humanitarian ties among member states.
In parallel, the foreign ministers also convened in the “Central Asia – Russia” format to assess the implementation of key agreements reached during the most recent summit of heads of state. The session aimed to coordinate future initiatives to deepen regional cooperation across various sectors of shared interest.
Turkmenistan’s participation reaffirms its commitment to regional dialogue and constructive engagement within the CIS framework, as well as its dedication to strengthening collaborative ties across Central Asia and beyond.
