UAE and Ecuador Presidents Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties Across Key Sectors

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with His Excellency Daniel Noboa, President of the Republic of Ecuador, at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation across a range of vital sectors, including the economy, trade, renewable energy, sustainability, investment, tourism, and agriculture.
The meeting underscored the two leaders’ shared commitment to fostering mutual prosperity and advancing development for the benefit of both nations and their peoples.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warmly welcomed President Noboa and congratulated him once again on his re-election, expressing confidence in Ecuador’s continued progress under his leadership.
During the discussions, the leaders reaffirmed their dedication to expanding the scope of the UAE-Ecuador partnership and emphasized the importance of harnessing available opportunities to promote sustainable growth and mutual benefit.
They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern and stressed the importance of joint efforts to support peace and stability globally, as a foundation for long-term development and prosperity.
His Highness highlighted the growing ties between the UAE and Ecuador, particularly in economic cooperation, and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to deepening its partnerships with Latin American nations. He noted that such efforts have already yielded positive momentum in bilateral relations.
President Noboa expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation, and reaffirmed Ecuador’s intention to strengthen ties with the UAE in various fields.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and several ministers, including:
- Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure
- Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy
- Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment
- Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment
- Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of Education
- Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications
- Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State
Also present were Humaid Obaid Abu Shabas, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Ali Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; and Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office and the UAE Media Council, along with several other senior UAE officials.
The Ecuadorian delegation accompanying President Noboa included a number of ministers and high-ranking officials, reflecting the importance both countries place on enhancing their strategic relationship.
