UAE Participates in Second BRICS Sherpa Meeting in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sherpa to BRICS, led the UAE delegation at the second BRICS Sherpa meeting, held from 23 to 26 April 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Convened in preparation for the upcoming BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting scheduled for 28–29 April 2025, the gathering brought together representatives from member states to engage in discussions aimed at drafting the Foreign Ministers’ Statement and identifying key areas of cooperation to further strengthen partnerships within the bloc.

In his address, Al Hajeri underscored the importance of delivering tangible economic outcomes that positively impact the economies of BRICS nations. He praised the spirit of collaboration and the strong commitment demonstrated by the group’s members in advancing economic cooperation and fostering sustainable development.

On the sidelines of the event, Al Hajeri held a series of bilateral meetings, including discussions with the Sherpa of Brazil — the host country — and Sherpas from several other nations. These meetings focused on exploring avenues to enhance bilateral relations and deepen collaborative efforts across various sectors.

The UAE’s participation reflects its continued commitment to contributing actively to the BRICS dialogue and promoting constructive partnerships that drive global economic growth and stability.
