UAE President, Canadian Prime Minister Discuss Stronger Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Developments
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney held a telephone conversation on Wednesday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in key sectors including economy, investment, energy, technology, and artificial intelligence.
During the call, the two leaders reviewed avenues to deepen the strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and Canada, reaffirming their shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in areas that support sustainable development and advance the mutual interests of both countries.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Prime Minister Carney welcomed the successful conclusion of negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), achieved in record time. They described the milestone as a testament to the strong political will of both nations to elevate bilateral relations and unlock new opportunities for economic growth, trade, and investment.
The leaders also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, with particular emphasis on the latest developments in the Middle East.
