UAE President, Sierra Leone Leader Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Security

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received Julius Maada Bio, who is on a working visit to the UAE, as the two leaders held talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across key sectors.
During the meeting, the two sides explored avenues to advance ties for the mutual benefit of their nations, with a particular focus on priority areas such as economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, and sustainability. The discussions were held within the framework of the UAE–Sierra Leone Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in February.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the objectives of the agreement, emphasizing its role as a key platform for fostering development partnerships and unlocking opportunities that support the aspirations of both countries for sustainable growth and prosperity.
The talks also covered regional and international developments, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East and its implications for peace, security, maritime stability, and the global economy.
President Bio reiterated his condemnation of what he described as Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region. He stressed that such actions constitute violations of sovereignty and international law, undermining regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by several senior UAE leaders and officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Saqr Ghobash, along with a number of sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials.
