UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Palestinian Cause at Extraordinary Arab Summit

Palestinian Cause

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) reiterated its firm stance on the Palestinian cause during the Arab League Council’s Extraordinary Arab Summit on the issue, held in Cairo on March 4, 2025.

Addressing the summit, the UAE highlighted that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is at a critical juncture, necessitating responsible approaches, bold stances, and decisive resolutions to counter challenges that threaten Palestinian rights and regional stability. It emphasized the need for political and peaceful solutions rather than confrontation and destruction.

The UAE urged maximum restraint to prevent further escalation, especially in light of developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories since October 7, 2023. It acknowledged the January 15, 2025 ceasefire agreement, facilitated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, while emphasizing the urgency of lasting political solutions.

Denouncing ongoing Israeli violence and illegal actions in the West Bank, the UAE strongly condemned all provocative measures targeting Palestinians. It also rejected Israeli Prime Minister’s recent remarks on a potential Palestinian state within Saudi Arabia, deeming such statements unacceptable.

The UAE firmly opposed any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, warning that such actions violate international law, threaten Egypt and Jordan’s stability, and fuel tensions in Arab and Muslim communities. It stressed that the death and destruction in Gaza over the past months proved the failure of temporary solutions, asserting that a return to pre-October 7 conditions is neither viable nor acceptable.

Calling for a clear political process, the UAE reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state that coexists in peace and security alongside Israel. It emphasized that efforts to stabilize and rebuild Gaza cannot proceed without a political framework, rejecting Gaza’s displacement and stressing the need for a competent Palestinian national authority to govern the territory.

The UAE called for strong Arab, regional, and international backing for this path, particularly from the United States, to ensure a sustainable solution that guarantees stability, prosperity, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

Reaffirming its commitment to supporting Palestinians diplomatically and humanitarianly, the UAE pledged to continue leveraging diplomatic efforts to alleviate their suffering. It underscored its longstanding foreign policy principles, centered on peace, justice, and Palestinian rights.

The UAE also reiterated its commitment to providing humanitarian and relief assistance, affirming that Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 would continue delivering life-saving aid to Gaza via land, sea, and air. It stated that its foreign policy prioritizes stability, prosperity, and humanitarian affairs at both regional and global levels.

Concluding its address, the UAE expressed hope that the summit would result in strong Arab consensus and a unified approach to overcoming current challenges and securing security, stability, and prosperity for the region.
