UAEU and Sultan Qaboos University Fund Five Groundbreaking Research Projects

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) have jointly funded five pioneering research projects under the UAEU-SQU Joint Research Programme.

As the leading national research universities in the UAE and Oman, this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and tackling societal challenges.

The selected research projects cover key interdisciplinary fields, aligning with national priorities in both countries. These include public health, pharmaceutical advancements, materials science, water security, and the digital economy.

The research aims to address critical issues such as disease modelling, cancer treatment innovations, sustainable industrial materials, water resource management, and entrepreneurship in digital platforms.

By combining the expertise of researchers from both universities, this initiative fosters innovation, strengthens regional research capabilities, and contributes to solving key challenges in the UAE and Oman.

Dr. Rami Beiram, Associate Provost for Research at UAEU, stated:
“This partnership between UAEU and SQU represents a milestone in regional academic cooperation. Through strategic collaboration and shared expertise, we are fostering research that not only advances academic excellence but also yields practical solutions with real-world impact for both countries.”

Similarly, Dr. Ghazi Al-Rawas, Dean of Research at SQU, emphasized the importance of the initiative in promoting impactful research collaborations, enabling faculty and students to engage in high-impact projects addressing both national and regional challenges.
