His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Officially Opens First Session of Brunei’s 21st Legislative Council

Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, officially opened the first session of the 21st Legislative Council (LegCo) on Wednesday at the Legislative Council Hall Building.
Accompanied by Speaker of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, His Majesty’s arrival marked the commencement of the session.
Also present at the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The opening session signifies the beginning of deliberations and discussions on national policies, legislative matters, and key developmental agendas. The Legislative Council plays a crucial role in shaping the country’s governance by reviewing and advising on laws and policies that contribute to Brunei Darussalam’s progress.
The session is expected to address significant issues concerning the nation’s economy, social welfare, and governance, aligning with Brunei Darussalam’s Vision 2035.
