Uzbek and Russian Presidents Discuss Strategic Partnership and Regional Cooperation in Phone Call

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on May 3 to discuss key matters concerning the further development of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.

The leaders reviewed the progress made in implementing agreements reached during President Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024, highlighting the importance of sustaining positive momentum across all areas of cooperation.

Special emphasis was placed on the need for coordinated efforts to strengthen mutual trade, accelerate joint projects in priority economic sectors, and promote active collaboration at regional and business levels. In this regard, both sides commended the successful outcomes of the recent business events held in Tashkent as part of the Fifth International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia.”

The Presidents also expressed satisfaction with the dynamic expansion of humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the fields of culture, arts, science, education, sports, and tourism, which continue to bring the peoples of both nations closer together.

In addition to bilateral issues, the leaders exchanged views on current international and regional developments, and discussed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings and joint activities aimed at further deepening Uzbek-Russian ties.
