Uzbekistan, Türkiye Strengthen Parliamentary Ties with New Cooperation Roadmap

Antalya, The Gulf Observer: On the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, to advance bilateral parliamentary cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed a wide range of issues, including collaboration in trade and investment, industry, education, culture, and tourism. Emphasis was placed on enhancing parliamentary oversight, improving legislative frameworks, and expanding interregional cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of agreements reached at the highest levels.

The two leaders underlined the importance of sustained dialogue between relevant parliamentary committees, particularly in the fields of economic development, investment, innovation, banking and finance, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

They also expressed readiness to deepen engagement in areas such as international ratings, the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promotion of gender equality, and joint efforts to combat corruption and human trafficking.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides signed a comprehensive roadmap for 2026–2027 aimed at further strengthening institutional ties and enhancing cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
