Vice President Gibran Urges Unity and Teamwork for Successful National Development
Bogor, The Gulf Observer: Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among regional leaders to ensure successful national development. Speaking at the closing of the 2024 National Coordination Meeting of the Central and Regional Governments at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) on Thursday, Gibran urged members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) to put aside sectoral egos and work as a unified team.
“We must be united, with no more sectoral egos. Forkopimda must work as one; regional leaders must cooperate with neighboring regencies and cities. Once again, I emphasize this,” Gibran stated, stressing the significance of teamwork between central and regional governments.
Gibran also noted that all regional leaders were elected to manage a vast country like Indonesia, highlighting the importance of synergy and cooperation to drive progress.
In his remarks, he pointed to several regions that have successfully spurred economic growth. He praised West Papua’s economic performance, particularly due to its liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, describing it as “extraordinary.” Additionally, he acknowledged the economic strides made by Central Sulawesi, driven by nickel production, and Maluku, which has seen growth through agriculture and trade.
The Vice President concluded by reiterating the government’s ambitious 8 percent economic growth target under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, urging all attendees to work hard to achieve this goal.
“Teamwork is essential,” Gibran emphasized, reinforcing the need for unified efforts in reaching Indonesia’s development targets.
