WUF13 Opening Ceremony Held in Baku with Participation of World Leaders
Baku, The Gulf Observer: The opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) was held in Baku on Sunday, bringing together heads of state, government representatives, and senior officials from across the world.
The event was attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, along with other distinguished guests.
The ceremony was jointly welcomed by President Ilham Aliyev and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anacláudia Rossbach, who greeted participating heads of state, government leaders, and delegation heads attending the session.
Following the welcoming remarks, a family photo session of the participants was held, symbolizing international cooperation and engagement on urban development priorities.
Subsequently, a video presentation prepared by UN-Habitat highlighting the opening of WUF13 was screened. The ceremony concluded with a cultural program showcasing Azerbaijan’s rich heritage and artistic traditions, reflecting the host country’s cultural identity and hospitality.
