39 More Families Resettled in Sarijali Village as Reconstruction Efforts Continue

Aghdam, The Gulf Observer: As part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of internally displaced persons to their native lands, 39 families, comprising 169 individuals, have been resettled in the village of Sarijali in the Aghdam district. The newly resettled families were formally handed the keys to their new homes during a ceremony on Tuesday.

The event was attended by representatives from the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, alongside officials from the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The resettlement is part of the broader state program for the “Great Return,” aimed at reviving liberated territories through large-scale reconstruction, infrastructure development, and restoration of community life. The newly constructed homes in Sarijali are equipped with modern amenities to ensure comfortable living conditions for the returning residents.

Officials emphasized the symbolic and strategic importance of such initiatives in rebuilding communities, strengthening national unity, and restoring normalcy for citizens displaced due to past conflict.

The return to Sarijali marks another milestone in Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery and reconstruction agenda. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safe, dignified, and voluntary return of all displaced citizens in accordance with international standards.
