China and Indonesia Unite to Advance Resolution of Ukraine Crisis

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: On Tuesday, Li Hui, the Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs, met with Umar Hadi, Director General for American and European Affairs at Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
During the meeting, Li Hui highlighted the escalating risks and potential spillover effects of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized the necessity for all involved parties to collaborate in de-escalating the situation and restoring stability. Li also underscored the positive reception of the six common understandings on a political settlement of the crisis, which were jointly issued by China and Brazil.
Li reaffirmed China’s commitment to working with Indonesia to advance the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Bandung Spirit. He expressed a desire to create conducive conditions for the resumption of direct talks and negotiations among the parties involved in the crisis.
In response, Umar Hadi commended China’s proactive role in advocating for a political resolution to the crisis. He expressed Indonesia’s appreciation for the six common understandings and affirmed the nation’s readiness to collaborate with China and other relevant stakeholders to achieve a sustainable solution to the conflict.
This meeting underscores the shared commitment of China and Indonesia to promote peace and stability in the region through diplomatic efforts and multilateral cooperation.
