Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Grand Pharm Logistics Hub, a state-of-the-art facility located within the Tashkent Pharma Park innovation cluster in Zangiota district, Tashkent region. Spanning an area of 10 hectares, the hub represents a key milestone in Uzbekistan’s efforts to bolster its pharmaceutical logistics capabilities.
The $40 million project includes a three-story administrative building, warehouses, a hotel, a canteen, and a hostel, creating over 300 jobs. The warehouse premises cover 50,000 square meters, equipped to receive, store, and distribute large batches of pharmaceutical products in line with international standards. With fully digitalized processes and robust infrastructure, the logistics hub aims to strengthen the pharmaceutical supply chain domestically and internationally.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev examined the hub’s operations and highlighted its role in supporting other manufacturers within Tashkent Pharma Park. The center offers storage and export services through the advanced international SAP system and holds GDP and GSP certifications, as well as licenses for customs warehouses and global transportation. The facility’s air cooling systems ensure consistent temperature control during cargo loading, maintaining high-quality standards. A fleet of over 20 trucks supports transportation needs, complemented by dedicated parking and maintenance facilities.
The hub currently has logistic links with countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Poland, France, Hungary, Romania, and Türkiye, with plans to expand its network further.
Expanding Pharmaceutical Services and Education
The logistics center supplies products to over 7,500 pharmacies nationwide and has introduced an online pharmacy service to meet growing demand. The President instructed responsible authorities to simplify storage and registration processes, reduce costs, and increase the availability of essential medicines. Regular market analyses and assessments of medical sector needs continue to inform the hub’s operations and expansion of supply routes.
As part of the GPH Academy project, the hub has fostered partnerships with higher education institutions, establishing workshops in three universities. To date, 3,000 pharmacists have completed advanced training courses, and approximately 30 students have received scholarships and grants through the initiative.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of leveraging the logistics hub to advance Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector, enhance export potential, and improve access to quality medicines.
